Members of the Ontario Health Information Management
Association (OHIMA), formerly the Ontario Health Record Association (OHRA)
are Certified, Associate or student members of the Canadian College of Health
Information Management (CCHIM)
Health Information professionals possess a unique blend of knowledge encompassing
biomedical sciences, information sciences, legal aspects of health information
and the integration of clinical and financial information. OHIMA actively
promotes the Association and its goals by maintaining open communications
with its members through newsletters, educational programs and regional data
quality forums.
OHIMA actively communicates and networks
with The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, The Canadian Institute for
Health Information, The Ontario Hospital Association and other significant
stakeholders to influence decisions related to the management of health
information.
